As a globally operating company, GERRY WEBER International AG is aware of the different and sometimes problematic working and living conditions in some procuring countries. The Group would like to ensure to offer socially acceptable produced goods. This includes the assurance of fundamental human and labour rights for employees of suppliers.

To fulfill this social responsibility, the GERRY WEBER Group joined the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative). The BSCI operates an international program for the introduction, enforcement and improvement of social standards.

The core elements are training of awareness and knowledge of employee‘s needs and a partnership-based cooperation to achieve an improvement in case of possible malpractice.

GERRY WEBER International AG obligates its suppliers to comply with the minimum social standards according to the BSCI Code of Conduct and strives with them together to achieve feasible solutions for improvement.

GERRY WEBER International AG commits itself to the principle of producing only products which are harmless in terms of human ecology. In order to achieve this aim in a sustainable and permanent way for all product groups and brands of GERRY WEBER International AG, a quality management which safeguards all products from planning to production and delivery is applied.

This includes, apart from a carefully selected choice of raw-material suppliers worldwide and the continuous control of crucial parameters by independent and certified laboratories, the

establishment of minimum requirements, comprising all minimum standards in terms of product- and human ecology and which partly even exceed the statutory minimum requirements and the requirements issued by the ÖkoTex Standard 100.

Only harmless articles are given the green light for production; in this way we ensure that all products of the GERRY WEBER International AG do not pose any danger to the health.

Environmental protection and nature preservation as well as the responsible use of natural resources play an important role in all corporate decisions of the GERRY WEBER Group. As part of its environmental policy, the company not only ensures that energy is used sparingly in all divisions but also re-uses residual materials and waste at its sites.

At the international production facilities, appropriate agreements with suppliers ensure that environmental standards are met.

The Group discontinued its own logistics facility in Halle/ Westphalia. The benefits of this concentration on only two logistics partners include less complex processes, less transport, optimized lead times and, ultimately, greater efficiency.

In the case of transportation from the Far East, the company consciously uses environmentally friendly ship transport and tries to avoid air freight.
