GERRY WEBER acquires leases, inventories and trademarks from the liquidator of “DON GIL” Textilhandel GmbH
(Halle/Westphalia, 16 November 2011) The GERRY WEBER Group today acquired the right to take over all trademark and intellectual property rights from the liquidator of bankrupt “DON GIL“ Textilhandel GmbH. These include, in particular, leases, inventories and trademark rights. The acquisition was effected today in a bidding procedure. The purchase price of EUR 6.1 million will be paid from the Group’s own financial resources.
Based on a resolution dated 25 October 2011, bankruptcy proceedings were issued against the assets of “DON GIL“ Textilhandel GmbH. Up to this date, the company had operated 29 locations in Austria, selling its own ladieswear and menswear as well as third-party brands. The stores measure between 120 and 909 square metres.
The acquisition of these rights gives GERRY WEBER, which already operates 23 HOUSES OF GERRY WEBER in Austria, the possibility to continue its expansion in the country faster than originally planned.
