The casual look
We can only wish for next summer to be as long as the current maxi dress. Because it couldn’t get any longer. Long hippie dresses have been gaining a lot of ground from their shorter rivals, particularly in street style. Colourful prints, flounces and broderie anglaise make for a carefree summer feeling.
As XXL dresses tend to smack of the beach party, great care must be taken when putting an outfit together for the office. To make even maxi dresses succeed in taking that leap into the office, they should be made from exclusive materials in muted tones and worn with suitable accessories. High heel shoes, a narrow cinch belt and a large bag for office documents are certainly important requirements.
Maxi dresses are definitely much more suitable for wearing to glamorous evening events, elegant garden parties and gala dinners. But here too, colourfully patterned flutter dresses are not what's called for, but rather plain, elegantly cut dresses with a sparkling clutch bag and stiletto sandals to set the dress off.
